Bias Incidents Run Rampant
Bias incidents in such racial hotspots as Howard Beach, Bensonhurst, as well as the Belmont section of the Bronx, and Flatbush, Brooklyn-the site of a racially-tinged boycott by black militants of Korean grocery stores, where Koreans were called “yellow monkeys,” kept the New York Civil Rights Coalition on the ground, in unity walks, public demonstrations for racial harmony, and issuing clarion calls for people of goodwill to protest “all forms of racial idiocy and separatism of every stripe.”
